The Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan Society is excited to announce a delightful staging of the rarely produced Arthur Sullivan classic:
The Puget Sound Theatre Organ Society, veteran G&S producer, Mike Storie, and beloved director Christine Goff are delighted to bring a new adaptation of this classic curtain-warmer to life, accompanied for the first time ever by a mighty Wurlitzer theatre organ!
Mike Storie, a long-time producer of the Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan Society and also member of the Puget Sound Theatre Organ Society, was struck by the fact that he could find no instance of the music of Gilbert & Sullivan being properly produced on a Mighty Wurlitzer theatre organ. Was it possible to mount such a production?
Mike was fortunately introduced to Tyler Pattison, a well-known local organist and musical genius, and - together with a team of G&S veterans - they have created a truly unique experience. This production will be a farcical 1930's style radio show - complete with sight gags, audience participation, old radio jingles, and sound effects from the organ!
Directed by beloved G&S director Christine Goff, narrated by the incomparable Dave Ross, and featuring the talent of Richard Hodsdon, William Darkow, and Jon Palmason, this delightful show will be a laugh-out-loud comedy appropriate for audience members of all ages!
But you'd better purchase tickets quickly! This fantastic performance will be one night only!
Cox & Box will perform at the Haller Lake Community Club (12579 Densmore Ave N) at 7:30pm on Saturday, April 7th. The show will be festival style seating with the doors opening at 7pm. So arrive a little early, stake out the best seats, grab a cup of coffee and a cookie, and prepare to laugh out loud to the classic strains of this Sullivan operetta.
The facility is fully ADA accessible and has lots of free on-site parking!
Also, bring the family along! Kids under the age of 16 will be admitted free of charge!
