Space for the Arts

The G&S Suite in the Crown Hill Center is a fantastic resource for the greater Seattle community. Located at 9250 14th Ave NW in Crown Hill, the space is easily accessible from I-5, Aurora, 15th, and the RapidRide D line. And our rehearsal / performance hall, The Library, scenic shop, and costume shop are accessible from 8am to 11pm, seven days a week. 

Our model for sharing these spaces and resources with the community is changing. We are transitioning from hourly rentals into a “residency” model. Companies or producing entities / individuals will have the opportunity to be “in residence” for blocks of time - anywhere from 1 week to 8 weeks, depending on the project. In addition to allowing around the clock access to the space, this will let companies bring in and store props and costumes, tape the floor, even put on fully realized productions. The rental fee will depend on the scale of the project, with nonprofit rates ranging between $350 and $850 a week. Please reach out for more details.

One of our partner organizations, ARC Dance, is currently in residence in the rehearsal hall, and we are unable to provide additional rentals for that space at this time. But please check back to this website periodically as we will announce any updates here.

 

Rehearsal Hall

  • 40' x 50' open space with 15' ceilings.

  • Sprung wooden floor.

  • Upright piano & baby grand piano.

  • Some rehearsal blocks and furniture available upon request.

  • Possible prop & set storage during rehearsal process.

  • Seating and platform options for informal showings, workshops, etc.

  • Ideal for everything from community meetings to workshops to large cast musicals and dance classes.

Currently undergoing a significant remodel into a more traditional black box space, with more capacity for full productions.

Costume Shop

  • Three work stations with two sewing machines and a serger.

  • Large work table and industrial sink.

  • Four new, adjustable dress forms.

  • Extensive storage and staging space with rolling racks.

  • Easy access to the extensive G&S Costume Rental Collection.

  • Easy access for commercial load-out.

 

Scene Shop

  • 1800 sq ft of workable space w/ 15' ceiling.

  • Commercial loading garage door.

  • Full ventilation and thermostat control.

  • Possible access to select tools and equipment from the G&S Shop.

  • Ideal for everything from small woodworking projects to large painting projects to full set construction.

  • Please also inquire about possibility of a co-working option for long term involvement.
